Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
The mother-Queen to the elves. She is very old and powerful in the way of magick. She lives in Qintarra and has never been seen by non-elven eyes.
A delegation of elves, sent from the Silver Lady herself, came not long after Bates built his first steam engine. Technology spread fast and the elves were hit first and hardest. She was hurt the most by the destruction of the Morbihan Forest because she is oldest and old elves have a strong connection with ancient trees.
(Loghaire Thunder Stone)
She is the queen, but her daughter Raven manages the day-to-day work of Qintarra. She speaks in riddles because she is immensely powerful in magic and lives more in that world sometimes.
(Raven)
She speaks in riddles, but you can ask her about The Living One, M'in Gorad, and the Black Mountain Clan. Raven helps translate.
She says the mantle of The Living One is ultimately unimportant, and it can be shed. If kept, interesting events will continue around you.
About M'in Gorad, she saw an eyeless man, in pan, carving a key...a wolf with a raised paw. The official symbol for the city of Caladon is a wolf with one paw raised in the air. Also, a torn curtain...a ringed, broken finger pointing east. She saw a hand that sees, but is blind. A truthful man in a mask. It sounds like the ancient symbol of the Molochean Hand. Blindness can mean deception, that they are being misled. Finally, she saw lost, hiding children. A man who runs from them and drops and leaves. It reminds Raven that the name M'in Gorad bothers her because it is a dark name, a Dark Elf name. The lost children must be dark elves. They are hidden because they have been hidden through magic and isolation from everyone for almost 500 years The man may have been that human researcher Dr. Renford A. Terwilliger who came to the Glimmering Forest to study dark elves. His dropped leaves may have been the focus of the consuming flock and a target to find. The place of water and water may be Tarant, a place of factories and Williger was from there.
